"Teach Like a Techie" Tech Camp taught by Meg Ormistan
I started teaching at Jay Elementary in 1992. I was hired as a self-contained 5th grade teacher. I taught 5th grade for five years and then took an opportunity for change and moved to a 2nd grade position. I taught that grade for 10 1/2 years and then was able to move over into my current position as Technology and Enrichment Instructor. I have been in this position ever since. This is an everchanging role. The technology needs change and improve every year, if not monthly or weekly in this day and age.
I have been married to Terry since December 22, 1990.
I have 4 children: Laura, Stephen, Baylee, and Dalton
Laura is a RN Case Manager at Sam Hider Clinic here in Jay. Stephen is an Electrician's Apprentice under Oil Capital Electric. Baylee works at Grove Walmart and Dalton is working fulltime at Cobb in Spavinaw.
I have 5 grandchildren: Kaecen, Kaebree, Brayleigh, Davi, and Blaine.
Kaecen, Kaebree and Brayleigh attend Jay Elementary. Davi and Blaine both attend Early Headstart.
There is not much time for anything extra right now. I am pretty busy with everything between school and home. We will be attending ball games as well as various school functions throughout this school year.
I like to research all new technology advances on the internet as well as stay active in Professional Development online with as many websites as I can manage to visit.
