I began my teaching career in 2004.  My first assignment was as a kindergarten teacher here at Jay Elementary. I moved to our K4 (pre-K) program in 2005 and taught there six years. I then moved back to kindergarten for four years before I moved to my current grade and location. I have taught second grade for the last four years.

I am also serving on our building’s RTI (response to intervention) team. I work with other grade level representatives to assist teachers in better serving their most at-risk students.

I was blessed to be selected by my colleauges as the Jay Elementary Teacher of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year.

Family Information:

I have been married to Newly Robertson for 15 years and we have two children which attend school here also. We enjoy supporting our children in all their endeavors. I am a member of the Parent Teacher Organiation and the President-Elect for the Football Booster Club. You will often see my husband Newly helping out in my classroom and around the campus. He serves as the Jay Youth Sports Associaton President and is a member of the Parent Teacher Organization as well.

We have a little ranch where at any given time you will find, dogs, horses, chickens, cattle, ducks or goats.

Personal Information:

I enjoy cheering for my kids in their various activities: football, basketball, track, karate, and rodeo. When we have family time, we love to take our boat out to go fishing or gigging. I like to watch my kids and husband rope steers on cool evenings. My kids and I enjoy biking and hiking on our days off from school.  We also love visiting state parks and historic sites. I enjoy doing yoga, going for short jogs, shopping, and decorating/crafting. I like to do a little gardening in the spring and deer hunting in the fall.
